Hello, Thanks for the query.
Fasting glucose 145 mg is very high. Ideally it should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg. Only Glimepiride 2 mg may not be beneficial. Some additional drugs may be required. What is the PP glucose levels & HbA1c%. With aging skin does become dry and wrinkled. That is a normal process. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have gone through the information given. You have mentioned only the fasting glucose level. There is no information on after food glucose & hba1c%. Also there is a need to know her lipid profile, serum creatinine & urea levels to give any specific advise. It is better if you also give information on her dietary pattern, weigh, height and extent of daily exercise. Ideally at her age fbg should be < 100 mg, pp should be around 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. That ...more

Mr Lybrate-User, Thanks for the query.
Your fasting glucose (120 to 145 mg) does cross the limit set for diagnosis of diabetes (126 mg and above). Pp (after 2 hours) is in the pre-diabetic range. Other value has no significance. Please check hba1c%, that will give a clearer idea. Still, the situation is just borderline. Not to worry much. Just take a controlled diet and keep physically active. Thanks.

Is your blood sugar under control. No its not because of the side effects of the medicines that you r taking. It can be because of some type of allergy which is very common during rainy season.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, I note that your fasting blood sugar is under better control after you changed your medication. However your post meal blood sugar is on the high side and I note that your weight is only 60 kg which is a bit low for your height. Check with your family doctor about the need to take insulin for improving diabetes control and to gain weight to optimal body weight
