You need to make special effort to bring sugar levels rapidly under control. You may need to shift to insulin injections right away, because looking at blood sugar levels it appears your beta cell reserve is almost nil. S...more

Hello,
Madam the glucose levels mentioned are very high, suggesting uncontrolled diabetes. This means 1) present medication is not adequate enough, there is a need to up grade the therapy. 2) one has to give a closer look at your diet and extent of exercise. 3) since there is no mention of weight and height, those details also need to be looked at. Ideal bmi should be < 23 kgs/sq meter. There are other drug options like sglt - 2 inhibitors which can help in achieveing better control, but to...more

There has some hue n cry about pioglitazone two years back but that is politics between pharma companies. MOREOVER Bladder cancer risk is with high dose that is 30 mg or above but it's benefits overweigh risk. In India Doctors are using this salt for 15 years.Nobody has seen any case of bladder cancer. On the contrary cancer is more seen in people who are not diabetics and aren't using pioglitazone. So rest assured you are on right track.Good luck.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The glucose levels mentioned are very good, showing excellent control. This is mainly because of Tablet Gliden MF that your are taking. The other tablet whether you take or not, glucose levels will remain within present range. Reason being that particular tablet has no proven clinical benefits. There are absolutely no standard clinical trials done like double blind placebo controlled studies. So the claims are not proven at all. Thanks.
