Ideally blood glucose should be maintained in the following manner: fasting < 100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg / 100 ml & HbA1c% < 6.8 (for persons above 60 years <7 may be fine).
Since there is no mention about weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, it is difficult comment. Unless all those details are given, there is no way to understand the situation. Thanks.

I have seen the details mentioned. With a hba1c% of 10%, it is clear that your diabetes is not at all in good control. Considering your age, it is necessary to maintain hba1c% < 6.5%, fbg < 100 mg & pp 150 to 160 mg. This control will help in preventing or postponing the long term complications associated with t2 dm.
