I have seen the details. Your fasting & pp glucose levels are too high. In fact you need a much stronger correction. More drugs are needed. What is the hba1c%? Ideally in a well controlled person fasting should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% <6.8% (not mentioned). Therefore, your doctor has suggested the newer tratment. Hi if your sugar levels are in control, then there is no need to change medications or add any for the time being. However, person with t2 diabetes at some point of time in the treatment may have go in for insulin injections. Right now for you this stage is not there.
