This is due to spasm of neck muscles duebto over stretching. And postural pain. Do regular neck muslr exercises slowly and gradually no jerky movement of neck. You can take the help of physiotherapist. Keep your vertebrae in normal position sit erect and stand erect. To avoid these postural problems.

Yes, with time neck muscles become weak and over stretched by looking dowen for long time, minimize use of mobile, use moist heat twise a day at painful area, use towel roll under your neck while lying on back for 20 minutes, do some neck stretches.
