Hi doc. I was diagnosed with severe vaginal fungal infection yest and prescribed Clingen vaginal suppository tablets for 7 days. I inserted one Clingen last night but I got my period this morning. Should I continue using the vaginal able or discontinue during my period and resume once its over? I can't reach my gynaec. Just FYI I was also prescribed 2 doses of oral forcan 150 tablets. Hello,
fluconazole doesn't have any such side-effect, continue using ketoconazole shampoo alternate day, keep it for min 3 min on the scalp and then wash it off. For any further queries, consult a dermatologist online or offline. Hope it helps.

Health Query

Me and wife had yeast infection and got treated recently. My wife was given fluconazole 150 mg (one dose taken on 4th june, tuesday and second capsule on 7th, friday). She also used miconazole nitrate 400 mg vaginal ovules for 3 days. Today (9th june, sunday) she got vaginal spotting with abdominal cramping. I doubt, this may be due to implantation (not sure). If so, will the recent intake of fluconazole 150 mg affects pregnancy. I heard that fluconazole during pregnancy can cause problems in pregnancy. Kindly help.

Yes, it can cause side effects.
You should avoid planning for it during the treatment.
Also, it is better to take homoeopathic treatment for yeast as allopathic treatment will not cure permanently.

I have been suffering from Balanitis for the last 7 months. I have been unable to even retract the foreskin because there is a severe burning sensation when I try to pull the skin back. I also get a whitish deposit on my penis head every morning and sometimes during the day time too which goes after washing with warm water. When sniffed, the white deposits smells like sugar. My sexual life has been halted since then. I have tried Betnovate-GM, Canesten-S, Canesten creams locally and Flucos-200, Alflucos-200, Syscan-150 orally during last seven months of suffering, but there is no improvement so far. I am into chewing tobacco which I think aggravates the situation but I can't be sure about it. Last time in 2015 I had suffered from the same Thrush/Balanitis, but after taking Sifcan-150 orally for 2 months everyday and without using any cream locally, I was completely cured. Kindly advise.

I'm mother of a 6 month old baby. On breast feeding. Since 2 days I have vaginal itching and white colour odourless discharge. Last year I had the same problem and doc told its yeast infection. I took oral fluconazole tablet. Since I'm breast feeding is it safe for me to take oral fluconazole? If not please suggest me some other remedies.

I got yeast infection and took 3 doses of fluconazole on 1st 3rd and 7th day of the treatment as per doctor's advice. Its been 5 days after my 3rd dose and I have a sort of vaginal dryness and occasional itch along with clitoris soreness. Is this normal or I have to take one more dose of fluconazole. Thanks for the advice.
