1. Do saline gargles daily.
2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also.
3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. You are suffering from obstructive airway disease, most probably bronchial asthma. You have to be done spirometry, chest x-ray and blood investigations in consultation with chest physician. Then you will need inhalers along with oral medications. You need to be regular in treatment.

I am 34 now. I am 175 cm height, medium built but 86 kgs in weight. Doc says it is bone weight. I am slightly asthmatic and intakes Foracort 100 rotacap one capsule per night. I am mostly allergic to dust. I do have starting stage of arthritis affecting my right leg knee. And have back pain. My food habits are veg mostly, but include fish and egg only as non-veg. I keep away from milk, milk products and sugar (or at least I try for it). I look moderately okay in body shape - do not have a fatty stomach, nor a fatty body also. I am planning to join gym for maintaining my body. I am not looking for body building, but I need to maintain a flat stomach and healthy body. My doubt is do I really need to join a gym for this? Will basic home exercises work good? For how long should I workout daily? Do I need any protein supplements (as I have severe persistent joint pain after 2-3 days of workout). The joint pain was consistent in the past that it forced me to quit from daily workout.

Dear lybrate-user, asthalin inhaler and rotacaps are inhalational beta agonists, one of the mainstay of asthma management besides bronchodilators and steroids. It may cause increased heart rate and palpitation in some patients, but in my opinion is not at all dangerous, as hundreds of my patients are using it without any trouble. But, if you have some queries, please contact your physician for more details.

Treatment can prevent asthma attacks and control symptoms during activity. Regular exercise can strengthen your heart and lungs, which helps relieve asthma symptoms. If you exercise in cold temperatures, wear a face mask to warm the air you breathe. Maintain a healthy weight.
