Folic acid is a vitamin which helps to prevent any birth defect in the baby. Indirectly it may help you in conceiving also but if you are trying to conceive since last one year and not able to conceive then you need to consult a gynaecologist.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Following are the TSH levels during each trimester of pregnancy: 1st Trimester: 0.1 to 2.5 mU/L, 2nd Trimester: 0.2 to 3 .0 mU/L & 3rd Trimester: 0.3 to 3.0 mU/L. Therefore increase thyroxine dose by 25 mcg per day and check TSH level after 4 weeks to see if it has come down to the expected range. Maintaining those specified levels is essential for proper development of fetus and healthy outcome of pregnancy. If you have any doubts please come back. Thanks...more

Hi Raj.. it should used throughout the pregnancy....
You may use Amway Iron folic tablet... which has iron in it also which is also necessary and the benefit is it does not have any side effects like constipations...
And better consult a gynecologist if you haven't.. as these all things should have been advised by a gynecologist but if you don't know then you might have avoided it till now which is not good..

Folic acid is vitamin b9 and it is working together with other vitamin factors in various activities of our body --so mostly we are taking all these b-complex factors together in vitamin bc suppliments --- so there is no side effect in taking vitamin capsules with folic acid ----ok.
