Since You are a heart patient, it is advisable for you to take medications that have least effect on the heart. Paroxetine is a SSRI, which is considered to very safe for heart patients. On the other hand Zapiz is Clonazepam which is a benzodiazepine which should be used on a short term basis. They should not be taken for more than 4 weeks as they may cause dependence. In my opinion, if you responding well to Paroxetine kindly continue it. In case of Zapiz, try to stop taking it after 3-4 weeks ...more

Can I take antidepressants while breastfeeding? Hi, I am 29. I have 3 months old baby whom I breastfeed. I have anxiety since childhood. I used to take medication for it before getting pregnant. Now it has been an year I am not taking any medication. And my anxiety is back now. I feel difficult sometimes to bond with my baby. I don't feel excited and positive about future and life. I am having lack of concentration and confidence. I approached two psychiatrist recently. One prescribed me nexito 5 and other prescribed me prodep 20. They said it's ok to take them while breastfeeding. I really want to take these. I desperately want to be mentally healthy. But the thought that it might harm my baby doesn't encourage me to go further. Are there any lactating women who had been taking such medications? Are there anyone who has been in same condition? I just little bit of motivation to go ahead and start my medication. Please help.

Escitalopram (nexito) is excreted in human breast milk, it should be taken only if clearly needed.
If you are taking, then monitor any adverse effects of the same,
I would recommend not to take these medicines in these conditions, rather you go for exercise (aerobics) and yoga (it is slow but it definitely works),
spend 1 hour daily behind exercise and yoga, include green leafy vegetables, eggs, almonds, nuts, oats and pineapples in daily diet. These foods help to increase tryptophan...more

Do not take medicines based on the past prescription. Consult a clinical psychologist to evaluate the intensity of ocd and whether the condition can be managed by psychological therapies. If not consult a psychiatrist for medical intervention.

If you are diagnosed with depression, I d suggest psychotherapy can help you cope up and overcome it. Then you can slowly and gradually reduce the medications under the guidance of the psychiatrist.
Every allopathic medicine has some side effect or the other. The medicines are prescribed keeping in mind that its good effects outweigh the side effects. You should check with the doctor who prescribed the medicines to you for its possible side effects.

yes.. Uneasiness, being worried all the time and general fearfulness are not normal conditions. If these symptoms last for more than six months, it’s an indication of a mental condition known as Generalised Anxiety Disorder. The symptoms include restlessness, irritability, headache, trembling, fatigue, hot flushes, sweating, frequent urination, difficulty in concentration, difficulty in falling asleep and trouble swallowing food or a lump in throat. I am a 24 years old male. I am suffering from ocd since 2009. But I identified that in 2013 only that I am suffering from something which requires treatment. From then I am taking prodep 20 mg and the things were stable. But from the last 3 months I am suffering emotional turmoil due to one relationship issue. But gradually I am overcoming it. I consulted doctor. She advised me to take zapiz 0.25 along with prodep 20 mg. Things are improving. I am taking zapiz 0.25 for the last 5 days along with prodep 20 mg. And prodep 20 mg is being continued for the last 7 years. Though suicidal thoughts come into my mind frequently but I know those are irrational. So, I don't care them much. My confidence is low now. I get fear of new people, new circumstances and my performance in workplace is not upto the mark. And I don't know a sense of insecurity always pops up in my mind as I am doing a private job. And I always get unsatisfied as I am not performing as per my capability. My question is whether I can lead a very productive life in upcoming days? Will my struggle with ocd be there for the rest of my life? And when shall I achieve a stable mind with which I can overcome any emotional trauma like relationship, issue in workplace etc. Like a healthy and normal person? And why society doesn't accept me properly when my behaviors are little bit weird than the normal person? And as a medication how long zapiz 0.25 generally be taken to get rid of any emotional trauma?

All these questions can be provided ideally by the doctor. But what is obvious that you are not doing is relying only on medication for your recovery. That will not work well b itself. Meet with a counselor too and get a lot of help in dealing with your feelings, in particular, fear. Please take your parents with you to determine the possible developmental issues that may have contributed to this condition. This is a fear-based condition and for some reason you have not been dealing with this ch...more
