Hi lybrate-user,
kindly first check serum uric acid, and if it is high you may require lifelong feburic tablet. In the meantime, drink plenty of water, avoid non-veg food.
Follow up when you have your uric acid report.

Hello, thanks for the query.
To reduce increased uric acid one needs to avoid foods containing high purine containing foods like red meat, organ meat, certain sea foods (fishes like scallop, herring, haddock, salmon, mushrooms and mussels ). Also avoid sweetened aerated drinks & alcohol. The drug mentioned can be taken as 80 mg once a day. For a month or so then check the uric acid again. Stopping the drug may increase the levels again. Thanks.

Normal Uric acid levels are 2.4-6.0 mg/dL (female) and 3.4-7.0 mg/dL (male)
Some diets that are rich in purine end up causing an increased production of uric acid. In other cases, it may be due to a completely sedentary lifestyle. Less intake of water also may be to blame in some cases as water plays an important role in washing out the excess of the uric acid. Mr. Lybrate-user, for raised uric acid there is no permanent cure. Only proper control with medication and diet restriction is the option. You will have to avoid high purine containing products.

Reduce proteins of all types, drink more water, reduce stress. Do meditation daily, take double toned milk, take millets and two lemons daily. This will help to reduce your uric acid levels.
