Dear lybrate-user,
it is good that you are able to tolerate the medicines and kept the ocd without any rituals. I hope that you are keeping your thyroid (tsh) also in balance.
Along with these medicines, you need cognitive therapy from me or any clinical psychologist. You need to question and challenge the negative thoughts like" I have suffered a lot in life" I have ocd" I have hypothyroid also" these kind of thoughts come up due to certain errors you make in your thought process. Dear Manoj,
It is better to go to the same doctor, if etilaam pro, ativan and risdone ls were not sufficient. Probably his diagnosis at that time, 2 months back, was more psychotic and anxiety issues. Now those issues are under control, depression is more prominent needing d veniz. In psychiatry, the longitudinal diagnosis is made on seeing you at different stages. Now as a third doctor, i will see only what you are on 5th Jan. It is NOT very helpful for your long term from childhood problem...more

Restyl is for short term control of anxiety, and it does not cure the symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety can also manifest in the form of somatic symptoms like vomiting, etc you have mentioned. After ruling the medical causes for the same, you need to consulta psychiatrist for medications like ssri or snri group which rectify the cause of anxiety. Hope this info helps. Good luck.

Dear lybrate-user,
did you have dry mouth, headache, racing thoughts, jittery and agitation before taking desvenlafaxine or sertraline? Yes, you did have - they are all anxiety symptoms. Instead of googling side effects of the tablets, please google mixed anxiety depressive disorder, adrenaline reaction, stress management, recurrent major depressive disorder, etc. Please consult your doctor so that sertraline dose can be increased to an effective dose.

Do not worry anxiety is present in 5-18% of population and the medication given is good for short term control (1 week or so, not for this long). It is like taking treatment for any other medical problem. After some time you need ssri or tca group of medication for anxiety control, so consult a psychiatrist for proper medication. Ssri'c increase the serotonin levels which are already present in the mind (brain) for overcoming anxiety and helps on longer run, the medicine. Etilaam pro, just contr...more
