My mother is suffering from chronic venous insufficiency. She has high bp as a overweight. At present there are stasis dermatitis along with a small venous ulcer near the left ankle. Previously there was two venous ulcers which healed completely. Right now, in the affected area she is applying mupirocin ointment followed by bactigras dressing. It almost healed, but there is still watery fluid oozing out from some area. Skin colour became normal to some extent, but it is turning red again. She wears compression stocking daily for 10 hrs as prescribed by doctor. She is in pain and there is burning sensations.

It seems to be a repeat episode of dermatitis or lymphangitis. An antibiotic, limb elevation, dressing and rest will make it better. It will be prudent to show to a surgeon for diagnosis confirmation and treatment.

Since 2 months I am having skin problem, lots of itching, at my back, the legs, buttocks & waste. Have visited 3 different skin specialists, and tried the treatments, but nothing has helped. Hello I am 22 years old male. From last 1 month my foreskin is behaving weird. Sometimes the foreskin opening gets tight sometimes itâs lose when I massage it. Currently when my penis is in normal size I can pull my foreskin back fully and can bring out my penis head out fully but when my penis is erect or can say when it is hard after pulling foreskin midway there is some soreness on foreskin and it gets tight due to which I canât pull it down fully. My chemist suggested me to use âmupirocin ointmentâ so applying it helps but again after few days I get this issue. Can anyone help on this and why itâs happening and cure for this.

D/sir. I had undergone hysterectomy in dec 16 n I am also suffering frm slip disc problem. Now my problem is that after my surgery I have gained weight now this time my wgt is 88 kgs n my height is 5'1" n also I am facing problem of rashes on my face n gets puffed red eyes the moment I wake up in the morning n this problem is occurring in very short interval of time n with those rashes I got severe itching on my face n neck area. I am undergoing treatment with a skin specialist n taking med like tab allegra 180 mg, tab atarax 25 mg at bedtime n also taking treatment frm an orthopaedic n the med are tab enzomac, tab acuvin, tab adtrol plus n also had injection course of depo medrol once a week i.e.two injection per week. Bt nothing much of help .now my problem is now becoming worse as today on 25 may 17 I was unable to walk .my lower back got stiff n its really painful while walking I am unable to explain my pain which I am going thru. Health Query

Hello. I had perianal abscess which got drained in April 2014. The doctor put me on ciprofloxacin 500 mg 6 hourly and Enzomac twice in a day. After a month wound healed but there was always an opening about size of a needle head a the wound. The pus reoccurred thrice during these two years. Doctor prescribes antibiotics and sitz bath and it goes in few days. This time after 8 months there is a discharge as well. Doctor put me on satlum 375 and after 3 days it is almost 90% fine. There is just a small drop of discharge that too if I squeeze the place tightly. Doctor says it is a fistula and advised Mr. fistulogram. Can I live with it without surgery without having any complications. I fear if I do surgery there are still chances of reoccurene. It doest hurt me. There is no pain. It gets fine after antibiotics for few days and goes for 7- 8 months. It gets bad if I have constipation otherwise fine. Should I go for Mr. fistulogram. Is it painful. I fear if they inject dye it will open up the wound and surgery will become unavoidable. Presently after 3 days of medication and sitz bath I feel 100 % fine. Please advise sir.

Fistula cannot be cured by medicines. It will go on recurring. Lf you want to get rid of it permanently, then you heve to undergo surgery.

My grandfather, 80 years old, diabetic on metformin 500 mg (sugar controlled previously, not measured since 1 yr) had injured the lower part of shin bone by accidentally dropping a coconut. The injury resulted in a peeling of the upper layer with a 2x2 cm wound with mild bleeding. It has over a month now that the wound has not healed & the size has increased to 5x4 cms. He has started applying mupirocin oint since 7 days but not to any effect. The wound was left open right from day 1. I need advice regarding an oint which will improve wound healing in this case. I have asked a local pharmacist to do regular dressingof the wound from tmrw & also measure the blood sugar using glucometer. Kindly lend your valuable advice.

Hi Doctor, I am having a problem i often get heat boilings in my body it usually comes near my hip,thigh, chin and neck region it becomes big and it forms many puss in it. I consulted a doctor he prescribed Fusic acid ointment which was very effective for me. Now I am UK unfortunately i missed that in my home country could you be so kind to prescribe me some ointment which is alternate to the same and let me know the precautions for me to prevent from this problem.Thank you.
