My father Is COPD patient and had BP since 15 years he used telmisartan 40 mgOD and the BP is In control usually 140/90 Recently He checkup in KIMS Cardiologist advice 2D echo but the report is normal but last year he took Angiogram of Heart The report is saying 20% block in minor vessel that's not to cause any harmful he took 3 months medication of Atorvastatin and Ecosprin. My doubt is this time the doctor put 3 types of antihypertensive like clonidine 5 mg diltiazem 120 mg and Telmisartan 80 mg + chlorthalidone 12.5 mg This many types of drugs Needed to My Father? Finally Doctor advised Repeat Angiogram of Heart.

If recent angiogram shows only 20% obstruction and clinical significant complaints then repeat angiogram is not required. If BP is 140/90 with telmisartan then increasing BP medicine is not needed.

Hi. I am 55 years old, hypertensive. Done my routine tests last week. My crp is 42. What does that mean and is it dangerous to health? I am on ecosprin av 75 for triglycerides. Earlier it was 400. Now come down to 200. Kindly advice. thank you.

Crp is an inflammatory marker, it will be eleveated even in minor infections, however recently its raised levels have been correlated with increased cardiovascular risk. Ecosprin is a blood thinner and atorvastatin is for reducing raised lipids. Kindly mention the dose of atorvastatin you are on 10 or 20. Also repeat a fasting lipid profile to check your ldl to decide your correct dose.

Yes, continue clopidogril as it is used for blood thinning and fabuxostat is given to reduce uric acid.

Among clopidogrel and aspirin both are similar efficacy. Usually either aspirin 150 or clopidogrel 75 mg are standard doses.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Clopidogrel is given for preventing platelets aggregation in the coronary blood vessels. I do not understand the relationship between uric acid and clopidogrel. Thanks.

I am suffering from htn, dm-2 for the last about 10 yrs. I am taking metformin 1000 mg bd, ramipril 10 mg bd and my conditions are under control. My ecg is normal and have no heart problem. My age is 62 yrs. Dr. has also prescribed atrovastin10 mg hs and ecosprin .75 mg hs even though my lipid profile values are normal. Tell me is atrovastin10 mg and ecosprin .75 mg required to be taken? If yes then reasons and what are the advantages? I am also suffering from bipolar disorder and taking medicines for that.

Both these medications are given as preventive measures - aspirin to prevent clot formation in blood vessels and atorvastatin to keep your cholesterol under check.

Sir my father age is 54 and he has suffered from pulmonary embolism in 2003, from that time, he has been taking amlodipine5, ecosprin & atrovatastin, recently his blood pressure become 160/100 from few days, so he has been started taking telmisartan 40 mg together with amlodipine 5, is there any risk of interaction of telmisartan drug with ecosprin and atrovatastin. Your father have hypertension. Hypertension over long term can cause secondary complications. You should get some workup done atleast once a year. Cbc, rft, rbs, ecg, echo, fundus, these are some bare minimum. If you had it done you can send me the reports, I will review. Now for treatment, telmisartan is really good drug. I am using Calcium with vitamin D tablet 500mg, Vitamin E capsules 200mg, since last 6 months for treatment of my osteopenia. Pl advice that for which purpose Vitamin E is necessary to use. Due to regular use of these Medicines I am suffering with heavy Constipation daily. I am taking daily at bedtime cremaffin/Lactulose syrup 30 ml/ Isabgol husk 5 gm/Tirfals churn 10 gm but no relief in my constipation. My stool is dry & hard & after applying much strain it comes out. I am taking fibre diet, fruits & drinks 4 lt water daily. I am vegetarian & of 67 years age. I am also using diabetes2 medicines glimepiride 1mg od, Metformin SR 500 mg BD, & Ecosprin150 mg od, Atorvastatin 10 mg hs, Ramipril 2.5 mg, for CAD & standing, & Urimax D 0.4 mg for B P H. My prostate gland size/vol is 44.16 ml. My blood sugar, blood pressure, lipid profile & calcium labs reports are normal. whether I can stop to take Calcium & vitamin E, Atorvastatin, Ramipril Medicines from today now in view to remove my heavy Constipation & back side whole skin dryness & itching condition. Do not stop any medication except calcium and vit d wala tablet.
This calcium is main culprit.
Stop for 1 month.
Avoid milk and milk products.
Start banana every day twice a day.

Clopidogrel is a blood thinner but its jot rhat bleeding will never stop ! There are even better n heavier blood thinners than clopidogrel. Effect starts to wear off in 24 hrs of stoppage albeit takes 5 days, but never stop on ur own !
