Hello, Thanks for the query.
Some patients may develop swelling in lower limbs due to retention of water and sodium following intake of certain NSAIDs like diclofenac. It could be due to not tolerating that drug. So it is better she avoids it. First thing is stop the drug and if needed some antihistaminic may be used. Swelling will go away after stopping the drug. Henceforth, she should avoid using that compound again. Thanks.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I actually need to see what grade of arthritis is it, because in advanced stages, no medicine will work and it is not advisable to take pain killers for a long time even though tab ultracet is quite safe in this aspect.
Please send me x ray knee (ap-standing & lateral views) so that I can see and then advise you on this. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Ankle pain. Our suggestion would be to do hot water fermentation along with Cold (ice) therapy. You shall also keep a pillow under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes.

Apart from radiation, you can also think about high intensity focused ultrasound (hifu) for the lesions in the bone which is causing the pain.
High intensity focused ultrasound is also not very expensive.

- avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc
- take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days
- take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm
- ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm<...more
