Following home remedy is very successful in cough and colds for children and they enjoy taking it. 1 teaspoon rooh of za sharbat ,1 teaspoon brahmi sharbat and few drops 10 drops of lemon in 30 ml water. Your medicine is ready. Repeat after 30 Mon 1-2 teaspoon.

Yes, you are absolutely right, it's should not be given till 3 to 6 months.
Reasons: Mechanism of Actions: it relaxed bronchial muscles (small wind pipe muscles), but Infant's wind pipe are deficient in muscles, no benefits in Infants.
Main problems in Infantile wind pipe during severe cold/cough is excessive secretions which might be treated with Hyoertonic Saline under Pediatric guidance
