Doxycycline 100 MG Tablet belongs to a class of medications called tetracyclines which block a bacterial protein from being made and therefore prevent the growth of bacteria. This drug may also be used as part of a combination therapy to treat severe acne and to prevent malaria.

Doxycycline 100 MG Tablet is available in capsules, as oral solution, tablets, and a solution for injection, which is only given by a medical professional. It is best taken by mouth on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, usually 1 or 2 times everyday. Drinking lots of fluids is highly recommended while taking this medicine. If stomach upset occurs, taking it with food may help even though its effect may decrease a little. It is advised to not lie down for 10 minutes after taking this medication. Take this medication 2 to 3 hours before or after taking products like antacids, quinapril, didanosine solution, vitamins or minerals, dairy products, and calcium-enriched juice.
