Generally speaking, before starting medicines from a psychiatrist, it is advisable to get psycho-diagnostic testing done to determine what is the nature of symptoms- is it psychological –requiring counselling/psychotherapy or does the symptom require medicines from a psychiatrist. HOWEVER, WHEN SYMPTOMS ARE NO LONGER NORMAL OR TOUCHING UPON INSANITY, SEE A PSYCHIATRIST IMMEDIATELY. PSYCHIATRIST IS MBBS PLUS MD IN PSYCHIATRY- HE GIVES MEDICINES ONLY. TREATMENT STARTED EARLIER WILL CONTROL THE PROBLEM VERY FAST. YOU MUST SEE A QUALIFIED AND TRAINED PSYCHOLOGIST FOR CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. MANY PEOPLE CALL THEMSELVES PSYCHOLOGIST, JUST AFTER A BA OR GRADUATION DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY, OR AFTER MA OR MASTERS IN PSYCHOLOGY. - A PhD in psychology is reqd. To qualify as doctor. Difference is same as you see MBBS doctor or MD doctor as a specialist for any illness. PSYCHOLOGIST IS AN EXPERT IN DIAGNOSIS BY PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING AND COUNSELLING/PSYCHOTHERAPY I.E. TREATMENT WITHOUT MEDICINES. GET PROPER DIAGNOSIS FIRST FOLLOWED BY RIGHT TREATMENT. PLEASE GET DIAGNOSIS CONFIRMED FIRST THEN TAKE MEDICINES AS ADVISED. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT PROBLEM IS PSYCHOLOGICAL-THEN IT WILL NOT BE CURED BY MEDICINES. YOU WILL NEED PSYCHOTHERAPY.

Latest Trend in Eye Surgery

Eye surgeries have evolved a long way. Starting from the most basic of eye surgeries, technological advancement has evolved a number of modern eye surgery techniques. LASIK is the latest trend in eye surgery and is the most common type of eye surgery in the modern day.

LASIK or Lasik (laser assisted situ keratomileusis), is a laser eye surgery or laser vision revision. It is a kind of refractive surgery for the rectification of nearsightedness, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The LASIK surgery is performed by an ophthalmologist who utilizes a laser or microkeratome to reshape the eye's cornea with a specific end goal to enhance visual acuity. For most patients, LASIK gives a lasting contrasting option to eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Carrying out a LASIK surgery:

  1. To begin with, your eye specialist utilizes either a mechanical surgical apparatus called a microkeratome or a femtosecond laser to make a slender, round "fold" in the cornea.
  2. The specialist then creases back the pivoted fold to get to the fundamental cornea (called the stroma) and expels some corneal tissue utilizing an excimer laser.
  3. For partially blind individuals, the objective is to smooth the cornea; with farsighted individuals, a more extreme cornea is fancied.
  4. Excimer lasers additionally can redress astigmatism by smoothing an unpredictable cornea into a more typical shape. It is a misguided judgment that LASIK can't treat astigmatism.
  5. Laser eye surgery requires just topical soporific drops, and no wraps or fastens are required.
  6. After your LASIK surgery is completed, you will be given some rest. You may feel a makeshift smoldering or tingling sensation promptly after the surgery is completed. After some post-surgical examinations, you are ready to go home. Abstain from driving by yourself.
  7. Immediately after the surgery, you may experience blurred vision or hazy vision. It will subside with a little time.
  8. You must keep away from any kind of activity that causes strain to the eyes after the surgery. Avoid watching television or reading.

Results of LASIK surgery:

  1. Laser eye surgery offers various advantages and can significantly enhance your personal satisfaction. A great many people accomplish 20/20 vision or better after the surgery. However, LASIK results do fluctuate from people to people.
  2. You will have to continue wearing your contact lenses or spectacles. The power will be much less after the surgery.

Side-effects: While this surgery strategy provides effective results, LASIK complications can happen and may incorporate diseases such as night glare, and you may experience starbursts or radiances, especially while driving.

LASIK surgery is one of the most carried eye surgeries nowadays and gives satisfactory results. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a ophthalmologist and ask a free question.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Codeine addiction comes under SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ADDICTION. Deaddiction treatment is best suited for such addictions. Medically assisted drug detoxification or alcohol detoxification alone is ineffective as a treatment for addiction. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recommends detoxification followed by both medication (where applicable) and behavioral therapy, followed by relapse prevention.

Youth Impotence - Know Why It Is Becoming A Common Trend!

Impotence is often related to old-age and deteriorating sexual drives. However, not all cases of impotence pertain to the older crowd. Youth impotence is an increasingly common condition among males in generation X, however, it is rare but not totally absent in females as well.

In males, youth impotence refers to a young man’s incapability to attain an erection or maintain it throughout the intercourse. The main reasons for youth impotence can be attributed to over-masturbation or having sex too often. A certain study indicates that excessive masturbation at a very young age requires an excess of testosterone, thereby restricting the resting time of the nervous system. Endocrine function of the body is adversely affected as well because the production of hormones and liver enzymes is gravely reduced.

Other causes of male youth impotence are:

  1. Marijuana: Marijuana increases the level of the inflammatory hormone ‘prostaglandin’, E-2, that is responsible for inflammation of the brain arteries which results in interrupted blood flow to the penis.
  2. Methamphetamine and Ecstasy: Prolonged meth abuse can cause confined testicular function and orgasmic disorders whilst over-dosing on ecstasy is responsible for wrecking the ‘serotonin’ producing neurons present in the brain that regulate and control sexual activities.

Causes:
Youth impotence is relatively a typical in females. However, it isn’t a condition which is non-existent. Females in the ripe ages of their youth experience “inhibited desire disorder” which means the woman has no or very low desire to engage in any form of sexual activity. This condition can be attributed to a variety of factors: drug abuse, unpleasant past experiences, chronic distress, insomnia, etc. Experiencing a piercing pain during intercourse can also lead to this condition. This pain is unnatural and might persist due to lack of lubrication, vaginismus (pelvic muscle spasms) or genital herpes

The youth impotence in both males and females can be healed by a combination of the following methods:

  1. Psychosexual counselling
  2. Intake of pills which stabilise the flow of hormones in your body
  3. Kegel exercises which strengthen one’s pelvic muscles
  4. Addition of necessary nutrients to your diet

Now a days green coffee is in trend to reduce weight is this possible. How to take these coffee seeds.
Hye, Thanks for your query. First of all no food will work in isolation in weight/fat loss. It's a balanced diet that is important to fat loss. Remedies like green coffee don't help weight loss. They help replace unhealthy drinks and act as a detox which definitely will help better metabolism. This will aid in your efforts to lose weight bit not in isolation. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called singular remedies will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, have your green coffee but accompany it with good diet, exercise and sleep to see result.

Role Of Lasers In Gynaecology - Know The New Trend!

The CO2 Laser Treatment was first used for the treatment of gynecological disorders in 1973. It was used for treating gynecological disorders including cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and microsurgery of the fallopian tube. Gynecological disorders like stress urinary incontinence, vaginal atrophy, and pelvic floor dysfunction are becoming very common these days. Nowadays, doctors practice Laser

Treatment to cure such problems.

In Laser Treatment, the laser beam is applied only to the affected tissue and has minimal impact on the non-target tissue. It is different from traditional technology and involves minimal thermal damage through laser beam on the internal organs. It is a safe and effective way to cure gynecological problems without the need for open surgery. Laser treatment is also used in the field of cosmetic gynecology for treating various conditions. These techniques involve Vaginal Rejuvenation, Labiaplasty, and Vaginoplasty.

Benefits of Laser Treatment in Gynecology

In the delicate surgeries like laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, the surgeons need to make sure that the laser beam penetration is minimum and not causing damage to the tissues of the internal organ. However, in the case of the CO2 Laser Treatment, the laser beams are very gentle. They are balanced with optimal thermal control and are precise so that the non-target areas are safe.

Some of the benefits of Laser Treatment in Gynecology are:

● The laser method is minimally invasive.

● The impact is restricted to the target tissue only.

● The post-surgery healing time is less.

● Minimum damage to healthy tissues.

● Fewer chances of recurrence of the disease.

● Minimal scarring.

● Simple and requires a few steps only.

● If the abdominal surgeries are coupled with laser technology, it will help surgeons to treat the lesions and reduce the chances of recurrence.

Laser Approach Used for Disease

Laser treatment in gynecology is used to treat the disease like

● Stress Urinary Incontinence: IncontiLase Laser Treatment is used to treat this disease. It involves the tightening of irradiated tissues to gain normal continence.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse: ProlapLase Laser Treatment is used to treat this disease. It involves tightening or narrowing of the diameter of the vaginal cavity and strengthening of the vaginal walls.

● Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause: RenovaLase Laser Treatment is used to treat this problem. It involves vascularization of the vaginal wall to improve fluid content and provides relief from dryness, irritation, and burning.

● Abdominal Problems: The laser technology, when coupled with the Laparoscopy procedure, is used for abdominal surgeries. The procedure helps in less thermal damage to the tissues and more control over the target area. The surgeon can monitor the penetration to reduce the damage.

Endometriosis: Laser Treatment is very popular to treat the underlying disease like Endometriosis.

Take Away

Laser Treatment is a minimally invasive procedure to treat gynecological problems. The technique causes less damage to the surrounding healthy tissues while treating the problem. It can be opted for treating many gynecological problems; however, it is advisable to consult a doctor before going for this treatment.
