Please do not discontinue metformin avery good drug with few side effects of distension of stomach heviness and sometimes dirrhoea. Your sugar is controllef because of medicine and start rising after stopping.

Hi Mr. lybrate-user! it is great that your hba1c has significantly come down. You may try reducing the dose of metformin to 500 mg at this stage. However, you need to regularly monitor the sugar levels and body weight. In this regard, I would like to know if you have lost weight over the past 9 months and if so, by how much.
You may get back to me 2 weeks later with the fasting, postprandial sugar levels, weight and height.
