Dexona is steroid, which has many side-effects and has to be stopped. Practin can be used for a short duration and not years together.

Take home cooked, fresh light food. Drink boiled water. Take ORS.
Maintain active life style

I am 34 month pregnant with twins through ivf. My doctor told me to take dexamethasone injections of 12 mg x 3 shots in 12 hours gap. I have heard that it’s steroid injections and only 2 shots are to be taken as more shots can harm the babies so I am worried to take 3 shots .can any doctor suggest me that what should I do? Even want to ask that between dexamethasone and Betamethasone which injection is more safe for babies?

Yes they are steroids and yes they have harmful effects.. but in this condition to develop the babies fast enough it might have been prescribed....
My advise is to trust your doctor... but if you have doubts then consult another gynecologist with all your case details...

Hi lybrate-user. The injection will be good for your babies lungs, betamethasone is better, but depending on your gynaecologist, even dexamethasone is also effective. I don't know the details of your pregnancy, but with twins, inj will be more likely to be helpful than harmful. Hope you are not diabetic. All the best.

Respected sir/madam, my father (age 75) was admitted 4 days in a hospital with stage iii hemorrhoids, anaemia, hypoglycemia. Doctors used dns, d25, metronidazole saline, dexona injection, ivepred injection etc for 4 days and released from hospital. On day 5 at home suddenly his neck becomes bigger (right side of neck mainly, neck seeking). After using warm things on the neck it becomes small. But next day morning again we have seen the same problem. There is little dry cough also. Please doctors suggest us what to do. Please reply quickly. I will be very grateful to you.

I think you father is developing dependant oedema..the cause may be varius, but primary is less blood in the body. so to take care of the piles from bleeding , and correcting the anaemia with the help of blood transfusion bor medications will be help ful.

Eat a good diet with lots of fruits, vegetables. Nuts, milk egg, pulses, cheese butter, do some physical exercise - 30 mts walking daily and deep breathing exercise for 10 mts do for 2 months and report results
