Dear , zeptol (carbamazepine) is a teratogenic drug, that may harm the foetus. It is ok to take it now. You delay pregnancy by few years (5 years). By the time of pregnancy you may try gradually tapering and stopping it. If not possible few other safer anti-epileptic medicines like lamotrigine may be tried, although small risk of cleft palate is there, but no very serious risk.

For trigeminal neuralgia, tegrital (carbamazepine) is most effective drug. He is on very minimal dose, dose can be adjusted if required but some effects are possible like sedation, rashes and decreased sodium level. Most of the patients require long term treatment.

Hi

This is Dr Akshay. Can you kindly tell me about her brief complaints and her latest DEXA score. Osteoporosis per se should not lead to a bedridden status unless it has lead to fragility fractures either in Spine or Limbs.

You can have a private chat with me .
My consultation fees is Rs 400/-.

Thanks & Regards

Hi

Thanks for your query. I am Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi.
If it is joints pain then it can be due to arthritis but if there is generalised limb pain i advise you to get a DEXA scan and Vitamin D levels done.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Thanks & Regards

Hi
becosule contains only 15 mcg of methylcobalamine (b12) but also has other vitamin b complexes. So it should be fine to take both of them. Also at yoyears age, I would advice you to start taking calcium and d3 after going for dexa scan as with age, calcium and d3 deficiencies are common cause of weak bones. Regards.

It is an anti seizure medication and since under price control not easily available. It is safe to take that under medical supervision and regular tests. All the best.
