Dear user. Thanks for the question. Serotonin syndrome (SS) is a group of symptoms that may occur following use of certain serotonergic medications or drugs. The degree of symptoms can range from mild to severe. Symptoms include high body temperature, agitation, increased reflexes, tremor, sweating, dilated pupils, and diarrhea. Talk to your psychiatrist. While it is not addictive stopping it suddenly may cause “ discontinuation symptoms “ which are more like anxiety symptoms. Like always please discuss with your doctor about change of medications especially if you wish to stop the medicine as it should be gradually reduced in dose and stopped to avoid the above mentioned discontinuation symptoms.

Dear Harish,
There are many companies that manufacture desvenlafaxine. Most companies have their distributors at Chennai. You can ask your nearest chemist for desvenlafaxine 50 mg. He will get it for you. Please don't stop the drug on your own. Discuss with your doctor before weaning.

Dear Lybrate user. It is not advisable to stop the medicine you are taking all of a sudden. Instead of curing or managing your problems, it will only aggravate them. If you're not willing to continue or if you want to stop taking it please go to the Doctor Who prescribed it. He/she will gradually taper the dosage and stop it without any unwanted effects, and also replace it some other safer drug that suits you best.
