Asked for male, 77 years old from Kolkata

Hi, I have copd since 6 yrs. In these 6 years 5 times. I had breathlessness and hospitalised. I take regular inhalers (seroflo & duolin) 2 puffs 12 hourly and 2 tablets deriphyllin 1 bd and montelukast 1 od. Even then my copd exacerbates. What could be the reason and what are the precautions should I take?

Hi. Must have contracted covid 19. That can make airways hyper reactive post infective. Need to rule out background history of atopy/ allergyâ¦ allergic rhinitis/ bronchial asthma. Consult chest physician nearby. Need to start on regular inhalation therapy such as foracort. After proper work up. Spirometry/ ige level.

It looks like you are anaemic. And also you have to check with your vitamin and calcium, if the bones are weak then automatically the pain gets triggered more as there is less energy during any metabolic activity.

I started having stomach ache (not pelvic) and bleeding the next morning. My cycle is 3-6 currently. You need to get yourself evaluated by pulmonologist near u. I doubt pft can be done at this hour (due to covid 19 threat) but you will surely get proper guidance. Only oral tablets is not a good solution for asthma.
Inhalers are required even if in small quantity. Also visit a gynaecologist regarding your menstrual problem ,take care.

My father has been diagnosed with mild ild. He is having cough. Pulmonologist had prescribed pirfenex cipla tablet. Recently changed to acebrophylline 100 mg. Please let me know what should be the correct medicine for mild ild. How to control the cough? Are there any trials or cures better in homeopathy? Any advice? Please help. Other medications that he is taking is: 1. deriphyllin 150 2. complex 3. Multivitamin.

Mr. lybrate-user, pirfefenidone is the main drug for ild if its ipf form. Acebrophylline is not useful in ild. There are few cough syrups that wil help to reduce it.

My son is 10 year old .he suffering shortness of breath. We did the chest xray. Doctor said it's normal. We consultant to the doctor (mbbs, dch). Doctor also said child is well. These are manifestations of Asthma. Budamate 100mcg MDI inhaler 1 puff twice daily with spacer for 6 months is required. 5 minutes after inhalation mouth has to be thoroughly rinsed out with water.

My mother (51/F) had SOB and fever, cough etc. PFT showed probable restriction. SpO2 95 (at rest) 79 (after 6MWT). HRCT showed inter and intra lobular septal thickening, more marked at bases and few reactive mediastinal lymph nodes. Rest clear. The doc prescribed deriphyllin retard for 4 days and now DEC along with it, as her eosinophilia was high at around 15%(blood test done one month before her visit to the doc). Now her absolute eosinophilia count (EDTA) is normal 176 (normal range: 40-440). This level after 4 days of deriphyllin retard and 1 day of DEC. My Question is should she continue with DEC now that her eos. Is normal. Does DEC treat something else too? Will it be okay continuing current medication for next 10 days as the doc has prescribed?

DEC needs to be taken for a long time because if we stop it inbetween there is high chance for a repeat allergic symptoms and after taking it we are assuring your body to heal itself till the triggering factor is under control.
