Dear Lybrate user.
There is no allopathic medicine that is free from side effects. Of course taking Depran for a long time may cause reduced sex drive/desire in SOME INDIVIDUALS not for all the patients taking it. Fortunately your blood tests results are normal according to you. It seems that your body chemistry has well-tolerated the drug escitalopram (Depran). Probably you are searching for some knowledge about the drugs you are on and too much concerned with the side effects. You need not...more

I have taken seroxat for more than two years for treating anxiety disorders. While taking it, am always fine, but after stopping it, the symptoms come back. I met another doctor lately he said based on my symptoms (sleeping issues i.e waking up intermittently in between sleep, mood swings, palpitations, internal heat, recently having breathing difficulty and also bad thought) that it's depression. So he said I should continue with the seroxat, but am afraid for how long will I now take the drug or is two and half years not long enough for me to take the drug and get over the symptoms? Thanks. Am presently taking amitriptyline, which was recommended to me by another doctor I met earlier before meeting a new one lately who said I should start taking seroxat again. He also gave me zopice, but I haven't started either of the two though. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. From that it is clear that she needs a detailed examination and may be needs the help of diabetologist as well as neurologist. So such a case can not be managed by online consultation. A detailed examination plus certain specific investigations are required. So please go to a good reputed institution where all the specialists are available. Thanks.
