About Defcort 6 MG Tablet

Defcort 6 MG Tablet is a type of a steroid effectively treats a number of conditions, for instance autoimmune diseases like sarcoidosis and autoimmune hepatitis, joint as well as muscle conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and some allergies.

Defcort 6 MG Tablet is a part of a class of drugs called corticosteroids (steroids). It comes in a form of a tablet, used for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy which is a progressive disease in which the muscles do not function properly.

The medicine is used to treat conditions like bloating, autoimmune diseases, allergies, arthritis, inflammation of skin, rheumatoid arthritis. It can also be used to cure a few types of cancers. Deflazacort is an active ingredient present in this medicine.

The drug works by acting on glucocorticoid receptor and restricts the release of the substance which causes inflammation. It should be avoided if a person has any major allergies or has been vaccinated recently. Defcort 6 MG medicine should be taken only on the prescription by the doctor.

This medicine is not suitable to be taken by the pregnant or lactating women. Before starting this medication, the patient must make sure to inform the doctor about any ongoing allergy or disease or any history of it. People who experience hypersensitivity must avoid this medicine.

        • Rifampin: The desired effect of Deflazacort will not be achieved if these medicines are taken together. An alternate medicine or suitable dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

        Defcort 6 MG Tablet may interact with the following diseases -

        • Diabetesit may alter the blood glucose level and decrease the effect of anti-diabetic medicines. It is suggested to frequently monitor the blood glucose level.
        • Thyroid – if someone is suffering from impaired thyroid functioning, the effect of this medicine may alter.
