Hello, Thanks for the query.
Recently some combinations containing multiple drugs are banned. In that case you may have to consult your doctor and aske for substitute prescription. Because that tablet has Glimiperide, Met formin and Pioglitazone. So do consult your doctor. Thanks.

There may be multiple reasons for current problem.
We need more information like any symptoms of hypoglycemia like giddiness, sweating, increased hunger; diet pattern, any associated kidney, heart, liver problem; current hba1c.
You have not even mentioned regarding how many tablets he is taking daily.
Based on limited information provided I may suggest to reduce tablet and get hba1c and creatinine and consult doctor.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Tablet gluconorm 500sr is containing only 500 mg of metformin in sustained release form. Where as the gluconorm pg2 contains glimiperide 2 mg and pioglitazone 15 mg. The second tablet must have been prescribed because the blood glucose levels are not in control. Thanks.

Is your blood sugar under control. It can be because of decreased level of vit b12 orbit d. U need to start supplements for that. Also follow diabetes diet which simply means eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts and sticking to regular mealtimes. A diabetes diet is a healthy-eating plan that's naturally rich in nutrients and low in fat and calories. Key elements are fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

First try to control by improving your diet and increasing your exercise. If it is still uncontrolled then get your medicines adjusted.

Bula Dutta ji, Thanks for the query.
I have read the details given. The fasting glucose & HbA1c% are quite high. Therefore, Insulin might have been advised. Plus already there are multiple oral drugs like Glimiperide, Metformin, Acarbose, Vildagliptin & Pioglitazone. WHich means the whole oral range is there. So to attain desired control no further oral drug can really be added. Another important aspect is there is a need to look at her daily dietary intake & extent of exercise to see if a...more
