This medicine (proton pump inhibitor (PPI).) will not cure problem. It only works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. The day u dont take medicine normal acid production will be there n u will have symptoms.

For constipation I will suggest you to eat food with high fiber content like green leafy vegetables and can also eat bananas at bedtime as it is effective as a laxative and if necessary take 10 ml of syp cremaffin at night

There is no fit for all medicines. You have mentioned your medicines but you have not mentioned your Regular BP, Sugar, Cholesterols. Based on them only it is wise to change medicines. If you have not done any of those investigations kindly get them done.

But as you are an octagerian, it is probably better to leavee the hernia where it is if the mouth of hernia is wide enough to prevent any compromised blood supply to the content of abdomen.
