Cyprol Tablet is primarily prescribed for the treatment of Perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis and other allergic symptoms including urticaria. The dosage is based on your age, weight, medical condition, body size and response to treatment.
Cyprol Tablet is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms caused by seasonal allergies, food or blood such as watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or itching eyes or nose. It works by blocking natural substances like serotonin and histamine that your body makes during an allergic reaction. It also treats mild, uncomplicated hives.
During treatment with this medicine, you may experience drowsiness, constipation, dizziness, blurred vision, or dry mouth, nose or throat as side effects. Some people may also experience serious side effects like mood changes, shaking, seizures, difficulty urinating and irregular heartbeat. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rarely seen.
This medicine is not prescribed for people who have an allergic reaction to it, women who are breast-feeding, a newborn baby or premature infant, an elderly person, those who have narrow-angle glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, a peptic ulcer or bladder, stomach, or bowel blockage.
If you are taking or have taken within the last 14 days a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, do not take this medicine. Keep your doctor informed about your medical conditions and other medications you are taking during this treatment.
Do not use in neonates, safety and efficacy have not been established in children <2 years of age; symptomatic prostate hypertrophy. Cyprol Tablet are more likely to cause dizziness, excessive sedation, syncope, toxic confusion states, and hypotension in the elderly.
In case reports, Cyprol Tablet has promoted weight gain in anorexic adults, though it has not been specifically studied in the elderly. All cases of weight loss or decreased appetite should be adequately assessed.

Is It safe with alcohol?Cyprol Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Are there any pregnancy warnings?Cyprol Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Are there any breast-feeding warnings?Cyprol Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Is it safe to drive while on this medicine?Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
Does this affect kidney function?Caution should be used in patients with impaired renal function.
Does this affect liver function?Dosage should be reduced in patients with significant hepatic dysfunction. Kindly consult your doctor.
What is the onset of action?The action of the medicine is initiated within 60 minutes after its administration.
How long is the duration of effect?The effect of this medicine will remain active for about 8 - 12 hours after its administration.
Are there any missed dose instructions?If you miss a dose of Cyprol Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
The mechanism of action of the medicine remains uncertain at this point of time, even though some experiments have been performed on rats to determine the same.
Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

- Hypersensitivity to Cyprol Tablet or any component; narrow-angle glaucoma, bladder neck obstruction, acute asthmatic attack, stenosing peptic ulcer, GI tract obstruction. Avoid use in premature and term newborns due to potential association with SIDS.
