I have diagnosed with Deep vein Thrombosis last year again and having such problem before 7 years back as well. I am taking warfarin tablets. Someone told me that clots in veins do not get dissolve completely. Is it true? Is it lifetime to take these tablets so that it will not occur again? Please confirm.

My father got a heart attack in Dec, 2013.He is now 55 year old. After the 2 months of heart attack, he stopped english medicine and started using homeopathy for 4 months which in turn lead to a lv apical clot. He used warfarin for 7 months and the clot dissolved. So,he discontinued warfarin. Again a lv apical clot formed in Jan ,2017 and again he started using warfarin for 15 months (with different dosages. But the clot remained the same and did not get dissolve. As warfarin has many diet instructions he started using Dabigatran from May ,2018 to till now. But the clot is same and did not dissolve. Now the problem is from 2 months he has been suffering from headache (disappeared after a month, neck and back pain. I searched in google and found that one the major side effects from dabigatran is headache ,neck and back pains. Is it true and should be the dabigatran be discontinued? In the Neurology report it is found that not made of perineural cyst in spinal cord causing scalloping of s2 body. What does that mean exactly?

Your father has a cyst near the spinal cord and may need surgery and the clot is not easily dissolvable and may need angioplasty or bypass surgery.

My uncle has a dvt (since oct 2022) in his right leg near the knee. He is currently being treated with warfarin. He started developing a boil like sore on the area where the dct is located, it has opened up now and it's oozing yellow fluid. A new sore has started just above that. The area surrounding it, is very red and inflamed and hard.

Hello, please get it checked by a physician nearby and get the medications. He might have an infected skin lesion which might need immediate attention. Also,it is necessary to monitor the coagulation profile regularly with the help of blood investigation.

My father is having deep vein thrombosis or clots in right limb. Rightnow he is taking warfarin since last two months. His PT/INR is now 1.7. As in Afghanistan, the medical field and doctors are very weak. I'm worried if these clots got free and dad face any heart attack then no doctor knows how to save such a patient. My question is that what would be safer way to treat blood clots of my dad. Even if that would be outside Afghanistan, I am interested to know the treatment?

I have a history of DVT (Year 2006) and SVT (Year 2013) in past. In 2013, I took warfarin 2.5 mg for 3-4 months then stopped. In October 2016 I started feeling pain in my leg but not sure if it has reoccurred. Need to get yourself evaluated for any underlying genetic abnormality for recurrent dvt. If found you will need to continue warf to maintain your inr between 2-3. Better to consult a surgeon get yourself freshly investigated if not done already and then make an assessment about the future plan of your treatment.

I had deep vain thrombosis and I am under medication for a little more than a year. Initially I had heparin Injections followed by acitrom followed by Warfarin. If I sit for an hour or so, I find swelling on my left leg which had DVR. Moreover my left leg skin has turned black. How can I overcome these problems? I'm 58 years with body weight of 114 kgs and height of 5 feet 10 inches.

Hello I am Tanmay chakroborty. I am POST AVR patient in 2004. My problem is Premature ejaculation and Erectile dysfunction. I had advice many doctor they are treatment with clofranil, fludac but no improvement. I take medicine warfarin sodium, prolomet XL 25 and rivotril 0.5 prescribe by Cardiologist. Above problem ED with PE is permanent problem my life and I always DEPRESSED about my problem with frustration. Please advice me. I am grateful to you.

Hi. May be the question is not very clear but what I understand is that you were prescribed clofranil and Fludac for treatmemt of ED and PME rather as a side effect of these medicines. Hence further clarity is required.
For both the problem better you meet either a urologist or psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management.

I have mini simple partial seizures for few seconds without loss of awareness, I can lesson to someone, s talk but unable to response him, I feel unexplained sensations during the seizure, and focusing on one thing or every thing seems strange to me, and start breathing long. I am on epival cr because I had seizure during sleep, and used keppra and oxcarbazepine for partial seizures but does not work. Please indicate best medicine for my simple partial seizure. Note: I am also taking warfarin because of mechanical valve.

You have to be under neurologist /cardiologist care. Kindly have regular check=ups with them--tell the above problems to them--have investigations and treatment as they prescribe. Don't go for over the counter drugs for these problems. You can have a good normal life with regular prompt supervised treatment. Be happy and confident.

My mom is 90 years old, she is on wheelchair as she had stroke in 2005 after that she became semi paralyzed, she is on medication since, she diabetic 2 and she takes diamicron Mr. 60 mg (gliclazide) 1 daily before breakfast and diovan 160 mg for high blood pressure and takes warfarin 3 mg after lunch the question is my mom is suffering from hallucinations since last year, does that have anything to do with the medication she is taking?
