It is highly unlikely that it is from the vaccine. It can be from an entirely different reason altogether.

Both covaxin and covishield are safe and effective vaccines as per scientific data. Who approvals and travel clearances are a matter of paperwork and doesn't diminish it's efficiency. How long it will take to receive clearance can only be answered by who officials. On the other hand, incidences of blood clot with covishield has only been seen in some rare cases and there are barely any such cases reported till date in india. So unless you are planning to travel abroad, you can take either of the...more

Just the effect of the vaccine working in his body. It's normal. Just give him a paracetamol tablet (max 3 times a day). If it lasts for more than a week, it can be something else. You should immediately have a consult then.

Hello Lybrate user,
smoking and drinking do no have any connection to the effect of the vaccines. You should take the vaccines as they are available for you. In fact smoking damages the lungs and there is more risk for complications if they get covid-infection. So you should take the vaccine.

As per the guidelines and documents, covishield is not contraindicated.
But as covishield, has some (not verified) reported cases of coagulation as side effect so taking covaxin is a better option.
But I again repeat both covishield and covaxin can be used and safe.
Whatever is easily available get it.
Avoid use of unnecessary medications, avoid vaccine myths.
