The permanent cure will be to improve your eating habits. Reduce your intake of spicy food, tea, coffee, alcohol if you consume it, fatty food and increase the amount of fibre and whole grains in your diet. Are you taking any medications for your gastritis? Yes definately this disease can be prevented and you can lead a normal life again. First of all you have yourself recognised your weak points. This is good. U should do the following for life long--
1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it.
3. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handfu...more
