Dear lybrate-user, if he has been seeking help for his abdominal pain for many years, then I am assuming that he would have been examined and tested for any physical condition that can explain the pain. When there is no apparent physical cause, one possibility is somatoform pain disorder, when the patient experiences the symptoms but a medical explanation is lacking. Such patients benefit from antidepressants and more importantly psychotherapy that will help them decrease the effect of pain on t...more

Q1. I have difficulty in falling asleep and the doctor has recommended lonazep 0.25 mg once every night before bedtime. I have read that lonazep contains clonazepam which is used to reduce anxiety and calm down nerves. Besides, I have learned that lonazep 0.50 mg can induce sleep and is often used as a sleeping aid. So, my question is that 0.25 mg (which has been prescribed to me) being a very light dose, is it sufficient enough to be considered as a sleeping pill though it contains less concentration of clonazepam as compared to 0.50 mg tablet? Does 0.25 mg lonazep tablet having much less sleeping chemical, does it contain sufficient chemicals to be termed as the sleeping pill just as a 0.50 mg tablet? Please elaborate q2. My father had anxiety and stress related problems. He used to feel pressure in his head. And he used to stay awake till late night for office work and this cycle continued. His metabolism and bio cycles have been affected as his body clock is shifted. The normal way the body works has been hampered. Now he says that he cannot sleep even he feels sleepy asif that inbuilt mechanism of thr brain to switch off during relaxation, which is supposed to be automatic is not working. The doctor has recommended anxit 0.25 mg tablet once every night. Is it a sleeping pill like lonazep?

The fact that you have been taking anti anxiety drugs for more than 10 years and still suffer from migraine, anxiety and depression, means your problems are more due to your personality factors than physical causes. Though lonazep is a mild drug both are respiratory depressants and can cause medical concerns and issues if taken within short time of each other. So better avoid. Good luck

It is a good decision to taper off clonazepam. If you have started taking it for relief from depressed, please practice few relaxation techniques. In that way, you can keep your depressed to an optimum level to function properly.

Stress patients worry too much. Stress in today’s day & age where stress is high, feelings of frustration can emerge. It is our perception that can change our current negative situation into a healthy & positive one. Another way of perceiving these feelings of frustration can be by looking at them as an opportunity to push ourselves to go that little extra mile until we achieve our objective. However, there are times when we all can go around in circles; and being in this space can be quite upse...more
