Asked for male, 62 years old from Bhubaneswar

Hello sir, recently I had an brain stroke on left side of my brain since then I lost a bit of strength and coordination on my right hand and bit fumbling while speaking. I had consulted a neurologist and he has given medications for it which is colihenz p800, clopitab a 75, tonact 40, and my diabetic medicine. But the improvement in my conditions in very low. So I want to know is there any other medication or treatment for the better result. Thank you.

The weakness after stroke takes long time to improve and may not recover completely, all these things depend on the area of stroke
just continue physiotherapy aggressively on a daily bases and it should improve.

Hello Drs. My 6 and half year old younger daughter is still unable to understand the normal life. As per blood test and all she used medicines like SOMAZINA, LEVIPIL, ATTENTROL AND SYP BRAINWISE ETC., FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS, PHYSICALLY SHE SO CUTE AND NOBODY CAN IMAGINE THAT SHE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. SHE ONLY SPEAKS MUMMY, PAPA NANNI LIKE THAT. SPEECH THERAPY ALSO DONE FOR ONE AND HALF YEARS BUT NOT SATISFIED RESULT. DR TOLD SHE WAS ATTACKED BY RUBELA VIRUS. MY QUESTION IS VERY SIMPLE , THAT CAN SHE SPEAK AND CAN LIVE LIKE A NORMAL KIDS? PLS ADVISE

Sir my father is suffering from acute ischemic brain stroke from 7 months. He is using the medicines specially for brain stroke are prexron plus, aspirin, atorvastatin and a medicine neurlin which is combination of vitamin b6+vitamin b12+folic acid. I want to know, should a medicine prexron plus which is combination of two elements i.e. Citicoline and piracetam be used till now. My father is already using this medicine from 7 months. Old Dr. Suggests to continue this medicine but a new doctor don't. He suggests to take only and only one medicine in morning which is combination of aspirin and atorvastatin. Medicine name is ecosprin av 75. Is this medicine enough to treat acute ischemic brain stroke and as a future stroke protector? please sir advice me as soon as possible. Thanks.

Ecospirin and atorvastatin are essential in preventing ischemic stroke. Further medication is required based on the presence of intracranial blood vessel occlusion, presence of atrial fibrillation (rhythm abnormality of heart) etc. Which can be commented only after getting results of ct angiogram/mri tof ,ecg and echo of heart. My father left hand shakes from couple of months and numbness in left side and while talking slides changes in tone, visited a physician and said its parkinson diseases and advised this below treatment tab pan 40 once before breakfast tab atorva 40 mg once at night tab ecosprin in afternoon tab strocit plus twice a day tab etrobax if there is a pain taking this from 2 months but there is no improvement so physician advised tab pacitane 4 mg, but we could not find 4 mg so giving 2 tablets for 2 mg and doctor advised once at night and due to misunderstanding we gave twice a day 4 mg each and from that time we noticed his hand shaking stops but he is forgetting things and talking to himself and looks confused. Is it because of overdosed, and I searched online many doctors giving 2 mg, we should give 2 mg or 4 mg. Now we thought of stopping that pacitane for few days and then start only at night so confused should we go with 2 mg or 4 mg. Kindly advise what we should do in this situation. Thanks.

Pacitane in excessive dose can cause confusion and forgetfulness. At your father's age, it is advisable to go slow. Stop it till the confusion and forgetfulness part recovers. Then consult a neurologist and let him take it from there.

But she has to continue levera, and ecosprin with atorva.

My dad been treated with alcoholism and depression since last one year. he was taking Stablon 12.5,baclofen 10 ,amizep h 12.5, three times and stresnil 0.5 at night. He was good after 3 months. He was reading books. But most of the time he liked sitting and walking. He developed swelling in legs. He started to complain about pain in hands and legs. Also used to say his mind is not working well. After 6 more months he started reducing his daily doses thinking it may help. I ensured he takes at least 2 weeks to reduce any dose. Then after 2 more months he was confused. Standing for hour or sitting in washroom for hour. Wanted to go outside in midnight. Even if he just came from outside he will again like to go outside. We admitted him to psychiatrist, he was given Etizola plus 5, deven la 50 mg, baclofen 20 mg extended release, monotop 50 mg, genecephal trio in morning and excite plus, desvenlafaxine 100 mg, oliza 5, monotop 50 and felicita tab in night. after 3 months he improved in terms of going out. He go out look around himself and come back. And told us there is no one around him now. When asked he told he was seeing 5 ghost like faces earlier. Before this treatment he used to walk very fast like flying. But after this treatment he got slow. After few more days he again started to go outside. So now we went to a neurologist. He prescribed risperidone 2 mg, trihexyphenidyl 2 mg, lorazepam 2 mg, citicoline 500 mg. It really helped him. He was calm now. He started to respond faster than earlier. Memory improved. But issues still not fixed are - 1. He walk and sit like statue, not able to lift legs too much above ground. And walk straight. 2. Less control while walking specially while coming down from stairs. 3.will fall while sitting on ground and standing from ground. 4. Teary eyes as he don't blink eyes much. 5.face looks swelled. 6. Remember many things accurately but don't remember many things like his birthday. However he may remember something now but may forget when asked after few days. 7. Response is better but still slow when asked something.

Hi, I would suggest you to meet the neurologist and ask about the side effects of these medicines.
Secondly if the neurologist permits then take help of a physiotherapist. Thirdly give him some memory booster activities like puzzle book or show him many different things for one minute then hide those things. Now tell him to write the name of those things. Take him to some social club.
The side effects of medicines might have affected his memory and gait. please do not reduce and medicine...more
