Dear Lybrate user,
its good that your husband is responding to treatment. Side effects are inevitable part of any treatment. However we can find ways to reduce them by modifying the medicines and adding on counselling. Don't worry. Feel assured. Fix an appointment with a psychiatrist either in person or through tele consultation. You will get appropriate guidance.

Ejaculatory disorder is one of the side effects of this medicine but in your case I do not know if that is the only reason. If you are suffering from anxiety then also you could have poor sex drive. Please dotalk to your doctor and look at alternatives or reduction in medication. So do not rely just on allopathy...more

Dear Lidia,
Since how long are you taking citalopram? Usually this weird sensation settles down in 3-5 days. If it is not settled, please consult your doctor again. She/he may add an anxiolytic for 3-4 weeks or may shift you to another group of antidepressants.

Now a days citalopram is replaced by Eacitalopam. Now you have to change your medicine because now. A days I have not seen any doctor who prescribe citalopram.
And one more issue for which you have to consult your about your stage of depression, Citalopram has higher side effects than Eacitalopam.
