I got dexamethasone for near 2 months. I stopped it (now near to 8 months after stop. My age is 17. I want to know that can effect to my future grown and if that have problem to future grown what can I do.

You have allergy with drotavarin and not with covid vaccine.

Hello lybrate-user, don't worry at all, dexamethasone is just an adjuvant drug given during the peril-implantation period. But it has not shown any positive impact on increasing the pregnancy chances. So your result won't be affected by missing that.

I am 34 weeks pregnant with twins through ivf. My doctor told me to take dexamethasone Injections 12 mg x3 shots in 12 hours gap. I have heard that’s it’s a steroid injection and only 2 shots should be taken becuase too many shots can effect the cell membrane of brain of unborn child. So I am worried to take 3 shots. Can anybody solve my query? And I want to know that dexamethasone or Betamethasone which one is more safe for my babies?

Betamethasone I use, but it is ok to use another. 2 or 3 shots practically does not make difference.

I have heard that dexamethasone injections are steroid injections and can effect the brain development of unborn baby and can cause behavioural problem and anxiety in the child in future life. It is better to take these injections for lung maturity as in twins premature delivery is common and if that happens lack of lung maturity causes big problems to babies. Doctor prescribing always weighs advantages against disadvantages before advising. In trying to avoid disadvantages you miss out on advantages.
