If the child is having the symptoms often then you nd to go for surgery else there might be complications. Antibiotics and other medication will reduce the symptoms but again might after a month or two you will come with the same complian. Preventive measures: maintain oral hygeine by asking her to gargle after every meal ,no to ice cream and freezed food, avoid cold as far as possible. U have to consult ent specialist regarding further evaluation and treatment.

If you are not having any digestive problems then you need not take any supplements as god has given you a very strong digestive system. Without indications any medication can be harmful. You can take curd aa it contains lactobacillus.

As per standard protocols, there needs to at least 5 years of seizure free period before tapering and stopping medications. Newer protocols followed by some doctors believe in stopping medications even if there is 1 year of seizure free interval. It is best that you consult with your neurologist and let him decide on what is best for you.
