About Cefi 1000 MG Injection

Cefi 1000 MG Injection belongs to the class of medications known as cephalosporin antibiotics, used to cure bacterial infections. It is administered to the patient in the form of an injection. It can treat infections caused by bacteria such as gonorrhea (infection of female reproductive organ), pelvic inflammatory disease and also infections of lungs, skin, blood, bones, joints and abdomen. It is also known to treat urinary tract infection.

This medication comes in the form of powder which is mixed with liquid and then injected intravenously (into a vein) over a period of 30 to 60 minutes. However, sometimes it is also injected into a muscle. It is usually injected as a single dose but multiple times with a gap of 4 to 14 days between doses is also given in some cases.

This medication should always be taken under the guidance of a doctor. There are some other precautions that should be taken. Make sure you do not have any allergy to the ingredients of Cefi 1000 MG Injection. Inform the consulting doctor about any other prescribed medications or dietary supplement that you are consuming in combination with Cefi 1000 MG Injection. Also inform your doctor about any history of liver disease, kidney disease or digestive problems. Cefi 1000 MG Injection should be kept under a cool temperature, away from direct sunlight. It should be kept out of the reach of children and pets.

    • Bacterial Meningitis

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of meningitis, which is an inflammation of the protective membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord, caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Neisseria meningitidis.

    • Bacterial Septicemia

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of septicemia which is an infection of the blood caused by Staphylococci and Streptococcus pyogenes.

    • Gonococcal Infection

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of gonococcal infection which is a sexually transmitted bacterial infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

    • Urinary Tract Infection

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of infections of the urinary tract caused by E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae.

    • Pneumonia

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia which is a common type of lung infection caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Haemophilus influenzae.

    • Bone And Joint Infections

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of bone and joint infections like septic arthritis and osteomyelitis caused by Staphylococci and Streptococci species.

    • Skin And Structure Infection

      Cefi 1000 MG Injection is used in the treatment of Skin and structure infection like cellulitis, wound infection and cutaneous abscess caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus.
