You should go for testing every 3 months and adjust dose accordingly. It can be stopped for sometime if reports are low but you have to on toes, keep checking frequently.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
For confirmed Hyperthyroidism one of the main treatment available is to use anti-thyroid drugs like Carbimazole in adequate dose for at least 18 to 24 months. Therefore, if she has been diagnosed to have hyperthyroidism then the treatment given is correct. It takes a few weeks to see the benefits of the treatment. It is necessary to observe TSH values once in 3 to 4 months. Since you have not mentioned any details about the thyroid hormone levels, it is difficult...more

Mr. You have hyperthyroidism, hence the treatment has to go on for at least 12 to 18 months, then when levels become normal it may be stopped. Some times it may not return to normal then other measures may be looked at. At present please continue the therapy. If you any troublesome symptoms please do inform.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
For hyperthyroidism the doctor has prescribed the correct medication. Only dosage may have to be adjusted. TSH should come up to 3 to 4 mU/L, at which all the symptoms will be in check. There is no other medication. TSH needs to be checked more often say once in 6 to 8 weeks. Thanks.
