Hello,
No, Esperal contains Disulfiram. Alcohol disulfiram reaction had caused death even at dose as low as 30 ml of alcohol. Alcohol is not at all safe on disulfiram and should be avoided for at least 2 weeks after disulfiram use. Remember craving for alcohol is hardly for 30 minutes and if you can overcome that 30 minute by drinking water or diverting your mind in some other work you will be able to control craving. Take Care.

Dear lybrate user,
you may need a bit of willpower to stop your habit of drinking alcohol permanently. You could easily abstain yourself from alcohol during the initial 2-3 days. Here lies your real test. You cannot satisfy yourself with just only one peg. You will need a lot of willpower to resist that craving & face any tense situation wit...more

Yes tinidazole and alcohol do not go well together and you might need to use alcohol, if that is so necessary after you finish your course of antibiotics that include tinidazole or just that antibiotic alone. You may have what we call reactions when you combine tinidazole with alcohol that can many times be very uncomfortable and you might even end up in the emergency room. If you have further questions or would like to quit alcohol, do call us so that we can help you.
