Yes. Inhaled corticosteroids have minimal effect on blood sugar levels, although theoretically that's possible. But using inhalers will keep your lung problem in control and further exacerbation may be prevented. If you were a confirmed asthmatic and continue to smoke, then your disease may change to copd, where the broncho-constriction is irreversible and the risk of exacerbation increases, so quitting is the best way for future.
