Montair of kid definitely can be given for few days may be 5- 7 days. But as you r saying it child is known asthmatic so try to keep him under control with inhalational therapy only so that oral medication can be avoided esp in case of children. Practice natural measures like pranayam, saline gargles, steam in case of nasal congestion, try to cover his mouth & nose while going out during changing weather. Always start inhalational therapy at the very start of his symptoms.
