Asked for female, 36 years old from Bangalore

My 4 year old son has caught cold while playing outside one week before. That time he was suffering from fever and severe ear pain. I shown him to ENT specialist .he prescribed Taxim-o for seven days. He also prescribed brufen (to reduce ear pain) for two days and told after two days give brufen whenever necessary. Now the problem is even after 5 days he is still suffering from ear pain and I have to give brufen even he used to cover his ears most of the times. Any suggestion how to proceed with this. Initially he said putting warm clothe eases his ear pain.

It is to be ascertain whether pain is in external ear or middle ear. If there is no fever, pain may be referred either from caries tooth or mouth ulcers. Please checked.

If you are experiencing side effects, please stop taking the drug immediately. Ibuprofen can be very dangerous especially if you take an overdose of it. Please visit a doctor and get the correct dosage of the right drug for you after informing him about other medical conditions, if you have any.

Yes antipyretic ie fever lowering medicine can be taken with antibiotics .
Some rare allergic reaction to ibuprofen are skin rashes, itching, swelling of the face, lips, mouth or have problems breathing, like a tight chest or shortness of breath.

Dolo, sumo, ibuprofen etc are just temporary pain killers or antipyretic and they don't cure the problems.
Better take proper blood tests first. Like CBC MP and serum Widal. Then consult with reports.
