Dear
Cholesterol lipids are made in liver as per body needs. No medicine can change this for long time.
You need proper diet plan and light exercises to balance all this. Results can be seen in ,6 months.

Dear lybrate-user, your triglycerides may be very high if your sugars are not under good control.
For us to comment about your medication for high triglycerides we need to know what your hba1c is, what the rest of the lipid profile is, whether you have in addition any thyroid disorder and whether you consume alcohol
regards

1. You are having non alcoholic fatty liver disease. Increased liver stiffness on fibroscan suggests progression towards a chronic liver disease state which can eventually cause cirrhosis of liver.
2. Have all these tests been done - cbc, lft, inr, seum proteins total and albumin, viral markers, serum ggt.
3. Also msg me your weight, height and bmi. Based on these investigations I can help you with the treatment.

Lipid lowering agents are just to control your abnormal lipid parameters. I suggest you to focus more on modifying your daily lifestyle, cutting down on oily and fatty stuff, restricting salt, junk foods, try including vegetables, salads, sprouts in your diet, walking daily for 30 minutes. These measures will help you in not being dependent on the drugs and preventing comorbidities.
Regarding the anti hypertensive medications, they need adjustments based on your average control. Consult me on...more

Hi
triglycerides level less then 300 mg/dl needs not to be treated by medicines, as for your cholestrol levels I would suggest you to start prelipid twice daily with severe life style modifiation for 3 months repeat lipids after 3 months if not improved then start statins. Lipaglyn is not required right now, eat lot of vegetables and raw fruits in your diet ,do not eat egg yolk and red meat.

Dear Hermen,
Yes. She can take Melslumb 6 mg along with other tablets. She can try with 3 mg initially. Melslumb has melatonin which is a sleep hormone from thymus gland. Harmless tablet. May be some water soluble vitamin is added to it. Again harmless. Solian and Valium are also sedating tablets. If she has sleep disturbance, she should get diagnosed for sleep disorders along with other treatment.
