I once had uti and visited a doctor who gave a dosage of trimethoprim after completing the dosage months later the same uti symptoms appeared but this time there was no discharge only itching of the urethra I went to another doctor and gave me the same antibiotics but still to date I experience the itching at the urethra what can be the cause or is it because I masturbate?

I was prescribed bactrim pills to treat my keloid infection and I was also prescribed an ointment to put on the keloid. When I initially began bactrim and the ointment treatment my ear and body became very itchy, but I dismissed it as my body adjusting to the medicine. When I woke up the next morning my keloid had swollen to the point it attached more to my ear. My face and eyes were swollen. My lips bare had any sensation unless I pinched them and I couldn’t taste my food. It was too hard to swallow so I didn’t eat. Eventually the infection went away, but then it came back so I used just the pills since the cream made my ear itch and swell so much. Thirty-forty minutes after that I began to itch and the whole process started again. I can barely swallow and my eyes are terribly itchy. Am I allergic to bactrim or should I seek medical treatment? I am sorry for the really long message.

From the history you have provided it seems that you are allergic to tab bactrim (sulpha drug allergy) so be careful next time you take any medicine. Avoid all the medicines which come under category of sulpha drug.

If child on exclusive breastfeeding and is playful, passing clear urine frequently, then perhaps nothing needs to be done. However if is not so, then clinical examination by a pediatrician is necessary to evaluate the dehydration and plan further treatment.

Hello doctor I am AYSWARYA first I would like to inform I have one kidney my urine culture report is gram stain: few gram negative bacilli seen. Colony count: 0.30 lakh/ml. Comment: probably significant growth. First level antibiotics is highly sensitive to Tobramycin, gentamycin, nitrofurantoin, ofloxacin trimethoprim, sulphafurazole, norfloxacin, lomefloxacin. And other antibiotics are highly sensitive.

I am suffering from dry cough and little fever and body pain since a week. This fever like feeling arises during night times which is uncomfortable. I consulted nearby general physician who prescribed augmentin 625 & dolo 650 for my above condition for 5 days. 3 days has completed but the condition is same like itching like cough and feverish at night and morning when I wake up. Your symptoms suggest a Tb infection and you need to check up blood and sputum AFB and treat if Tb is present.

So for about a week peoples been stepping on my big toe and as the week has gotten further into it well it’s gotten a lot worse and pus is coming out of it and it’s bloody and meat there is no skin over my toe and it’s infected. Over the week I would say it lost a good amount of blood and now my knee is starting to have pains and it’s been numb all day and still is numb and I’m having pains in my leg and my doctor today prescribed me bactrim but my knee is killing me.
