Aztor 40 MG Tablet
Aztor 40 MG Tablet is prescribed as an adjunct to diet for the reduction of total and LDL cholesterol. It also may be used in hypercholesterolemic patients without clinically evident heart disease to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, to reduce the risk for revascularization, and reduce the risk of death due to cardiovascular causes.
Aztor 40 MG Tablet belongs to a group of drugs known as statins. It reduces the level of low-density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol in the body. It also helps in curing various conditions like narrowing of arteries that arises due to high cholesterol levels in the body.
It can also reduce the amount of liver fat in the body. This drug is also used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack or coronary heart diseases.
Use of Aztor 40 MG Tablet must be as per directed by the doctor. It is also important to take regular dose of Aztor 40 MG Tablet for best results. However if you have missed a dose, don’t try to compensate it by taking an extra dose with the next one. That is extremely harmful to the body.

- CYP3A3/4 enzyme substrate
- Cholestyramine reduces absorption of several HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors; separate administration times by at least 4 hours.
- Cholestyramine and colestipol (bile acid sequestrants): Cholesterol-lowering effects are additive.
- Clofibrate and fenofibrate may increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
- Niacin may increase the risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
- Other: Clarithromycin, danazol, diltiazem, fluvoxamine, indinavir, nefazodone, nelfinavir, ritonavir, verapamil, troleandomycin, cyclosporine, fibric acid derivatives, erythromycin, niacin, or azole antifungals.
