Asked for male, 48 years old from Khammam

Sir, by seeing my lipid profile doctor advised to take atorvastatin 10 mg and ecosprin 75 mg, now my serum cholesterol: 145, hdl: 40, ldl: 80, vldl: 80, triglycerides: 250, my age is 48 years, shall I continue same dose or to increase any dose, as is am having bp and hypothyroidism.

Atorvas is a little more effective for controlling LDL and simvastatin is little more effective in increasing HDL.

lybrate-user, Lipicure tablet is given in a person who has increased lipid level (cholesterol) particularly total cholesterol, LDL & Triglycerides. In a person with diabetes most often there dyslipidemia (increased lipids). Therefore such a tablet is given. Fenofibrate is more often used when triglycerides are increased. Thanks.

Hi I have taken atorva 20 mg for around 45 days as of now. My total cholesterol has been reduced from 261 to 145 now. But triglycerides were 183 and 187 now. Can anyone please let me know?

Hello doc I need to take advise regarding my lipid test which I conducted fews days back. Here are the following details cholesterol, total - 181. 87 mg/dl triglycerides- 193.42 mg/dl hdl - 39.67 mg/dl ldl - 103.52 mg/dl vldl - 38.68 mg/dl non - hdl - 148 mg / dl feel stiffness in left chest with no pain nd heartburn whereas right chest is normal. Afr doing exercise it becomes normal. Also suffering frm stomach bloating nd gred I did lft also details are as follow my sgot 79u/l sgpt 82 u/l for lipid taking - atorva 20 for lft taking - udiliv 300 is the treatment which is going is ohk or anything else needed to be add in it. After taking udiliv stomach is still heavy. your suggestion are highly valuable.

Its better to stop atorvastatin. Your lipid profile is more or less normal. Do regular excercise and eat more vegetables and fruits. Reduce rice and sugar intake.

U need to check fasting lipid profile. And according to it I can suggest dose of atorvastatin. But at this age your ct will definately show blockages. U should go for conventional angiography if you really having anginal typical symptoms to know real picture. your medicines are insufficient.
