If your child is on breastfeed, you have to stop breast feed as it can cause vomiting and many other diseases . As for ascoril he may not like the taste of it and you can try a different scyrup after consulting his doctor

My suggestion is to take homoeopathic treatment.

Dont give the syrup. Simply take some ajvain roast it over pan than let it cool n make its mixture, make mixture of ginger and saunt. Add all three n gave with honey within days the cough will get clear up. You can also boil tulsi leaves n gave its water every half an hr. If the baby vomits dont panic its good as it will expell to the cough.
