Ascoril Syrup is a combination of three categories of drugs- ambroxol, levosalbutamol and guaifenesin. It is available in the form of syrup and tablets.

It is used to treat chronic respiratory troubles accompanied by mucus. It breaks down the mucus and facilitates easy breathing. It is a prescribed medicine and given to asthma and COPD patients. There are specific doses for adults and children.

Ascoril Ls works by widening the air passage which gets tightened due to effects of asthma. The mucolytic agents soften the mucus and bring down its thickness. This clears the air passage and relieves the patient from cough.

Since the drug is known to cause drowsiness, it is advisable to take it only after consulting the doctor and in prescribed doses. Its side effects include weakness, dizziness, fever, tremors, constipation etc. One should not to drive after taking this medicine. It is not a habit forming drug.
