Medications stoppage can lead to relapse if symptoms which can happen after few weeks or months. If there has been a past relapse on stopping medications it is advisable to continue the same. Initial stoppage of medications can provide a sense of well being, but on longer run can be harmful. There are various factors which need to be taken into consideration before trial stoppage of medications. Discuss with your psychiatrist. Good luck.

Schizophrenia is quite a debilitating disease and you should not attempt to regulate or discontinue the medication on your own. If after three years of regular use and without any relapses, it is possible to wean your mom off of the medication but that also in tiny doses. This should be completely managed by your doctor. Schizophrenia is a relapsing disorder. Early recognition and meeting a psychiatrist is a very good sign of preventing relapse.

It is not depression but paranoid symptoms and psychosis, suggestive of schizophrenia if the symptoms are more than 1 month in duration. Arip and fludac are too low in dosage. Anyway wait for 2-4 weeks for improvement and better dosage with a better medicine would be good for him.

The forgetfulness is not accountable by any of the listed medicines, depression in itself can cause memory disturbances that go away once your chemical disturbances improve with antidepressants.
The forgetfulness that you have mentioned could be due to initial body adjustments to the medicines and also many a times the slight sedation caused by such medicines can make us feel amnestic.
