Hi all, my father is having headache on the right side of his head for the last 1.5 month. We have got him seen to multiple doctors but no avail. Initially, he took paracetamol but it was of no use. Then we got his eyes checked from ophthalmologist who confirmed everything was fine. Then we took homeopathic medicine for migraine which relieved initially but the pain returned back. Then we went to general physician who gave naprosyn for 3 days and eliwel 10 mg for 10 days .he also added vitamin b-complex capsules to the same .naprosyn was very helpful and eliwel also reduced the pain somewhat .but after finishing the dose the pain has returned .also the doctor asked to do blood tests and calcium/protein tests which showed everything normal .what should I do in this case as we are clueless now .any help on the same will be appreciated.

Dear lybrate-user, the symptoms you have written are seen in cases of a nerve disorder known as trigeminal neuralgia. It is a tough and stubborn disorder which generally dose not respond to conventional medications except slight suppression for some time. But it can be completely cured with a herbal treatment' Dr. Parwana.

I think you are being treated for bipolar depression. At the outset let me inform you that is a very difficult situation to rely on medication alone. You need to combine intense counseling to learn coping skills and techniques to handle the complications of life that is anyway challenging even for the ordinary person. There are certain adaptations that will suit you during the elation phase and there are certain behaviors that are required during the depressed phases. In the meantime you can do ...more

Dear Yubaraj,
What your wife is facing is a side effect of the tablets she is taking. Amitriptyline causes drowsiness. But if she manages to take for few more days, she will get used to the tablet. It is harmless since she will go to toilet and eat food if given. Otherwise stop and start it later. One can reduce the dose of amitriptyline to 10 mg or 1/2 of 25 mg for a week and then increase to 25 mg.
Palpitations - she might be having already and clonazepam 0.25 mg will reduce it. At tim...more

If you are married with a child, you can go for an intrauterine device which have none of these side effects. If not, better to go for triquilar tablets. The side effects are less but they have to be mandatory taken at same time everyday.

Many, many times stress is not in the total awareness of the individual. Sometimes it is endogenous and at other times and for other people it can be exogenous. Meet with a counselor and do some talk therapy to identify pertinent issues that might not be in your awareness. The counselor will help you identify these symptoms and help you to deal with them too. The stress that you feel is not dependent on the stressor: it is entirely dependent on your perception of stress. Change your perception, ...more
