I am 42 years old, last 10 years I am taking medicine for schizophrenia, I am using amisulpride 200 mg, olanzapine 15 mg, and trihexy 2 mg, I am a diabetic patients, now I am suffering from weight gain, what can I do for weight lose?

Comtrol your diet,avoid excess oil,ghee,butter,fried,junk food.Take lots of vegetables and salad.
Exercise regularly.Remain physically active.

As schizophrenia is a complex mental disorder. Reducing or tappering of dosages may result in relapse. So tappering and dosage adjustment must be done under a guidance of psychiatrist only.

I had schizophrenia and taking medicine for that. Now my condition improved and my doctor agreed it and no relapse til mow. My doctor changed medicine from amisulpride to arpizol 15 mg .i don't know why and how long should I take the medicine.

Dear lybrate-user,
as I have already answered, schizophrenia needs long term maintenance dose of tablets. Relapses are worse to treat. You have not had any relapse since you were continuously on tablets. Your doctor is reducing the tablets, its dose and to less powerful tablets like aripiprazole. Let your doctor decide how long you will be on 15 mg. Since you don't have much side effect with aripiprazole, why don't you take it till the doctor decides the maintenance dose and tablet.

I am 58 years old, male, with mixed depression and anxiety and Schizophrenia since 20 years. Currently, I am on the following drugs:-Depression = Venlor XR 75 mg 1-0-1Anxiety = espazine 1 mg 1-1-0Schizophrenia = Trinicalm plus 1-0-1 Amisant 100 mg 1-0-1This combination has been prescribed by my psychiatrist. There is relief. I have 2 questions. Please answer. A) Is this combination OK, or are there any contra-indications. B) There is Trifluoperazine in both Trinicalm plus (5 mg) and espazine 1 mg. Therefore, will there be any test, because I am taking 12 mg in total. Kindly, answer at the earliest.

I am suffering from depression/anxiety and schizophrenia. For depression/anxiety, I am put on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0 and for schizophrenia I am put on amisant 200 mg 0-0-1 and sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1. There is lot of relief from these drugs. Of late, I am put on rivotril 0.5 mg 0-1-0 and alprazolam 0.25 mg 1-1-1 as a tranquilizer cum anti-anxiety drug. My query is just a confirmation cum second opinion only. My query is :- can alprazolam and rivotril be taken together as both of them belong to a same class of medicine viz benzodiazepine? Please confirm.

It is not advisable for them to be taken together, and they are harmful on longer run too. Discuss with your psychiatrist and get things modified.

Anxiety started from january 2018. Initially doctor prescribed me fluvoxamine 100 and amisulpride 50. Later as anxiety increased and dpdr and obsessive thoughts started so my doctor increased dose with clomipramine, fluvoxamine amisulpride and etizolam. Later etijolam was stopped but in winter 2018 I started feeling low so in feb 2019 bupropion was added. Currently I am on clomipramine 75 mg (twice, fluvoxamine 100 mg (twice), amisulpride 50 mg (night) and bupron xl 300 (morning). I am feeling little bit low in this winter again (i had no psychiatric problem before january 2018) and my memory has not improved to its initial level (like it was before january 2018. I struggle in recalling the work done in last 3 to 5 days. Though major event of past I remember but recent past, its some time difficult to recall. What should I do?

Mood disorder with obsessive symptoms are a challenge to treat. Discuss with your psychiatrist and try to attain maximal functioning. If not possible get a second opinion from as astute psychiatrist. Good luck.

Koi mushkil nehi. But be in touch wth psychiatrist every 2 months at least so that he can optimise the dose.

I have been suffering from depression for the past two years. I have been taking amisulpride 50 mg sustained release tablets for about a year and a half now. I don't see any improvement. Is the tablet not good enough for curing depression or is depression incurable? Do I need to keep taking meds my whole life?

It is not a primary antidepressant, so I am not sure why the doctor gave it. Kindly consult a psychiatrist and get proper antidepressants for proper recovery. It is surprising you took it for year and half with no improvement. All the best.

I am 20 years old and I am experiencing frequent nocturnal emissions or wet dreams resulting in sperm leakage during sleep. It is more frequent i.e. 6 or 7 times per month or twice a week. Is it any serious problem? And I am consuming anti psychotics like amisulpride 100 mg. Does it be the problem?

No it is not a serious problem, it is completely natural. You may face this problem less, if you masturbate frequently.
